Meet The Coach

Trudy Zack Fine

Hi, I’m Trudy. I’m a daughter to amazing parents, who are aging. A sister to 3, one of whom has severe special needs and is non-verbal. I’m a wife of an entrepreneur. A mother of 3, including one girl and two boys. I’m a friend to many and a best friend forever to an amazing few. I’m a Human Resources professional with a niche in training from the luxury hospitality sector. And I’m a life and business coach.

So, if you are looking to work with someone who knows a bit about life, the good and the bad, the ups and the downs, you’ve come to the right person. I know about the freedom of travelling and meeting new people and exploring new cultures. I know about the excitement of building a career and starting a family. I know about loyal, lifelong friendship. I know about the joys of falling in love and holding my newborn children. I also know about the agony of making really hard decisions. About facing and overcoming fears. About having extremely difficult conversations. I know about the effort it takes and the choice daily to be in a committed loving relationship. Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus, right?! I know about anxiety and worry and feeling overwhelmed. I know about feeling like a failure. I know about the struggle of aging.

Meet Trudy

As your coach, I want you to feel that I can empathize with you. That I get it. My focus as your coach is always you, but it’s nice for you to know, I probably can relate in some way too.

A little thing that makes me unique:

I grew up in Vancouver, Canada. I’m the 3rd of 4 kids and my younger sister, Dena, is severely handicapped. She has Rett Syndrome. To me, growing up with a sister who couldn’t speak, needed me to feed her, dress her, toilet her, help her off the couch, into the car and on and on, was… normal. Dena was cute as a button, and she was my favorite person to play with. From the age of 2, I was always thinking about what Dena might need, what she might be thinking and how she was feeling. “Empathy” is something ingrained in me. I always had caregivers in my home who helped look after her. These girls were often my age and looked to me when they were struggling with instructions from my parents or having a difficult day. I liked supporting them and they relied on me to be a sounding board. If they were happy, I knew Dena was better off and if Dena was ok then my parents were okay too. My role as a “support person” to Dena’s staff and my family continues even today, even though I live 3500 miles away and in another country.

My Education and Career:

After interviewing various Therapists and Psychologists, trying to figure out what path I wanted to take after completing my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, I landed in Human Resources (H.R.) for a luxurious hotel company at the Corporate Office.

With a Master’s in Industrial Relations, I knew I needed to be in a profession that helped people yet incorporated what I found exciting which was a business element. People and business and luxury hotels… this was a perfect blend for the first chapter of my career.

As a Human Resources professional and consultant, I worked with amazing teams in some pretty awesome hotels as well as corporate offices in Canada and the U.S.A. I love training and helping managers learn new skills to be more effective while enforcing standards and providing consistent training with staff as well as boost their own confidence.

I worked along-side my husband for 15 years as he built a successful recognition awards business. Anything HR related, I helped to create and/or fine tune. I helped to develop our leadership team and manage performance until the sale of the business. Lots of lessons learned about being an entrepreneur, leading teams, staying relevant in a competitive business world and the ups and downs of working alongside your spouse.

About Coaching With Trudy

Coaching:

With domestic life no longer being conducive to travelling around the globe to luxurious Fairmont’s and swanky Viceroy’s, I knew it was time to find the next chapter in my career where I could take my HR experience and continue helping people within the business world. I went through the International Coach Federation Accredited Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) Coach Training Program in 2015. After 320 hours of study, I received a dual certification as a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) and a Master Energy Leadership Index Practitioner (ELI-MP).

I am beyond passionate about my evolution from HR Consultant to Certified Professional Coach, helping people who might be stuck personally or professionally move forward in ways that serve them!

The Coaching modality to help people move forward is what I was looking for back in the day when the fields of Therapy and Psychology was really all that existed.

So what is it about Coaching that lights my fire? Well, I’m a firm believer in making the most out of this life we are given and to me that means being positive, seeing the glass half full, taking risks and moving forward. I’d be totally lying if I said that I’m always able to do that! Along the way, I’ve learned and I continue to learn it’s ok to get stuck sometimes. That’s part of the journey. It’s how you move forward that really matters. To quote one of my favorite, witty, brilliant and inspiring business coaches, Jennifer Barley; “How you do anything is how you do everything.” I’ve had some incredible partners, friends, coaches and family along the way to whom I turn to in order to do anything and everything in the best way and version of me possible.

The least I can do is share my experience, my life lessons, my intuition and my passion with others and help you make the most out of whatever your situation is so you too can be positive, see the glass half full, take risks and move forward in ways that serve you!
